WHO WE ARE

HISTORY

It all began with a keen sense of observation and inquisitiveness, an unrelenting passion for human development and a will to touch as many lives as possible. For Mrs Grace Oluwatoye, even as a youth, community empowerment had always been deeply entrenched in her heart. And so it was only natural that she pursued a career and life-long dream that would fulfil the deep longing of enriching lives and changing the course of destinies for good.

In what originated as a seed in the heart of the young adolescent, the vision for a formidable, life-changing platform where impact can be felt both home and abroad was birthed. Backed up by divine grace, profound depth of experience and quality education and exposure, the journey of what has now come to be one of Nigeria’s leading voices for health and sustainable development among youth and women, began in 1999.

Established in 1999 but registered on 13th January 2004, LIFEBUILDERS is a social and non-governmental organisation for health and sustainable development interventions targeted at youths and rural dwellers. With youth (in and out of school), women and the general population (targeted for general HIV/AIDs prevention activities, tree planting and media campaign for health promotion) as target population, LIFEBUILDERS, set out with a mission to undertake community mobilization activities, advocacy on issues relevant to its core vision through related activities of capacity building, information sharing, behavioural change communications on issues of leadership, responsible lifestyle around Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDs prevention and sustainable development.

Over the years, LIFEBUILDERS has evolved to become a legendary advancer for the promotion of the social wellbeing of women and young persons, advocating for improved quality of life through various empowerment initiatives in schools, universities as well as at the community level reaching the rural populace with information and services in line with the United Nations Agenda 21 of 1992 and now the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Domiciled in Oyo State with its office at 6, Ajayi Oshungbekun Avenue, Ikolaba, Ibadan, LIFEBUILDERS works exclusively in Oyo and Osun States.
