WHO WE ARE

At Lifebuilders Nigeria, we are driven by a profound commitment to fostering sustainable communities and improving societal wellness. Our journey began with the vision of Mrs. Grace Oluwatoye, whose lifelong passion for human development and community empowerment laid the foundation for our organization. Since our establishment in 1999 and formal registration on January 13, 2004, we have grown into one of Nigeria’s leading voices for health and sustainable development among youth and women.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower youths, women, and rural dwellers through innovative health and sustainable development interventions. We are dedicated to creating lasting, positive change by undertaking community mobilization activities, advocacy, capacity building, information sharing, and behavioral change communications. Our focus areas include leadership development, responsible lifestyles, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS prevention, and sustainable development.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every individual, regardless of their background, has access to the resources and opportunities necessary for a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life. We believe that by empowering women and youth, we can catalyze broader societal change and contribute to the development of resilient, thriving communities.

Our Core Programs

Health Promotion and Education

Our health promotion initiatives aim to improve the health status of women, children, and young people in target communities. We participate in national activities for developing guidelines and policies on adolescent health, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and advocacy with donors and government agencies. Our programs include school- and community-based HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support, reproductive health counseling, cervical cancer prevention services, and training health workers.

Youth Development

Lifebuilders adopts a holistic approach to youth development, providing comprehensive programs and training that equip adolescents and young adults with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about their health, careers, and life goals. Our Life Skills and Leadership Training (LSLT) program empowers youths aged 9-24 with essential life skills and leadership training. Other initiatives include school health programs, parenting and value reorientation, youth exchange programs, language education, and career guidance.

Economic Empowerment

Economic independence is crucial for empowerment. We support women and youth through various economic initiatives designed to enhance their skills and provide opportunities for financial independence. Our flagship project involves promoting the cultivation and use of Moringa oleifera, a versatile and nutritious plant, as a sustainable income source. We have trained farmers, established cooperative societies, and provided loans to support agricultural endeavors.

Environmental Conservation

Deep in the heart of our mission is the call for environmental conservation. We produce environmentally-safe alternative cooking fuel and cultivate and train in the use of Moringa oleifera. In collaboration with Vidsa Multiventures Limited, we produce and distribute Moringa derivatives and are conducting ongoing research into using Moringa ethanol for bio-gel production. Our efforts include mobilizing the planting of over 2 million Moringa trees in Akinyele LGA, Oyo State.

Our Impact

Over the years, Lifebuilders Nigeria has evolved into a legendary advocate for social wellbeing, impacting thousands of lives through our programs. We have mobilized over 200,000 people for HIV/AIDS care and support services, trained over 100 farmers on Moringa cultivation, and provided essential health services to countless women and children. Our initiatives are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that our efforts contribute to global objectives for a better future.
