Women Empowerment

At Lifebuilders Nigeria, our commitment to women’s development is at the heart of our mission to foster sustainable communities and improve societal wellness. Women are the backbone of our society, and by empowering them, we catalyze positive change that reverberates through families, communities, and the nation. Our multifaceted approach to women’s development addresses critical areas such as health, education, economic empowerment, and advocacy against gender-based violence.

Health and Wellness

Women’s health is a cornerstone of our development initiatives. We focus on increasing access to essential health services, including maternal and child health care, family planning, and preventive screenings for breast and cervical cancer. Our programs aim to improve health-seeking behaviors among women through intensive health education and promotion. By offering these services, we ensure that women have the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their health and the health of their families.
In partnership with APIN Public Health Initiatives and other development agencies, we have mobilized over 200,000 people for HIV/AIDS care and support services across 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Oyo State. These efforts are crucial in raising community awareness and providing intervention on HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, and other viral infections, directly impacting women’s health and well-being

Economic Empowerment

Economic independence is a key factor in women’s empowerment. Lifebuilders Nigeria supports women through various economic initiatives designed to enhance their skills and provide opportunities for financial independence. One of our flagship projects involves training women in the cultivation and use of Moringa oleifera, a versatile and nutritious plant. Through our collaboration with Vidsa Multiventures Limited, we produce and distribute Moringa derivatives, creating sustainable income streams for women within and outside Nigeria.
Additionally, we have established a Moringa cooperative society in Ijaiye community, Oyo State, where we have trained over 100 farmers and provided loans to support their agricultural endeavors. These efforts not only improve the economic status of women but also contribute to environmental conservation.

Education and Advocacy

Education is a powerful tool for empowerment. Lifebuilders Nigeria implements school health programs and youth-friendly services that emphasize sexuality and reproductive health. These programs engage adolescents and young adults, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices and lead healthy lives. By focusing on education, we prepare the next generation of women to be informed, confident, and capable leaders.
In addition to education, we are staunch advocates against gender-based violence. We mobilize communities to prevent violence, provide support to survivors, and facilitate linkage with appropriate government authorities for redress. Our networking with women’s health-focused entities amplifies our efforts to mitigate the impact of ill health and promote societal wellness.
